Enneagram: Symbol of Change and Attainment

I am giving you one of the key elements for understanding the Enneagram. It?s a symbol that describes change and describes the attainment of a goal. To run, very quickly, a description of it, when you set an aim for yourself??I?m going to accomplish X,? you start a cycle. It ends when you accomplish it. The Enneagram describes the exact moment when you are following this aim and you become distracted. So when you remember it again, you find yourself at the beginning. ?I?m going to lose twenty pounds.? So the first day, second day, I?m just going to have this cheesecake, so by the time the week went by, you forgot about the aim. ?Hey, did I promise? So I?ll start again, new method.? It?s not the method that?s failing. There?s something about how we accomplish aims that follows a rhythmic law. We can do a workshop on that. But the study of the Enneagram shows the exact moment that you become distracted the first time, the second time. Or if you achieve an aim, it shows you how you accomplished your goals, when the shocks were applied to get you through the potential distraction periods.
Have you ever gotten lost before? What happens? You go in circles.
It happens in our spiritual life, in your aims. So if your aim is evolution, the transformation of the essence, and alchemical change, you will find deviations and distractions in predictable segments. They can be anticipated; they can be predicted. If my students have a diary of all the things thy have attempted and when it gets deviated, they will see that it?s very predictable. But there is a way for them to retain it in a way to continue on the straight line. You need to apply a surge of energy, a shock like an electrical shock that allows you to go onto the next step instead of deviation. Then it is easy to go a couple more steps. Then you need another shock. Then later you need a third one. Once can come from yourself. Another cannot come from you, but needs to come from someone else.
This is one of those things that people in the Fourth Way want desperately to know and that people in magic circles and secret societies don?t even know they don?t know or how desperately they need it. When you are following a wave, following those cycles, vibrating, you have a pitch, you have a frequency. Let?s think of a musical note and frequency means only how often does the crest occur. That?s a cycle. So when you are going, when you want to go in a straight line, there is a moment where you need a shock that comes from somewhere else.
The trick is to find a wave that comes from something much bigger than you, that belongs to a higher octave of that belongs to a different frequency. One way to understand this more clearly is to think about the cycles you are having, these cycles in your lifetime. If you can touch a note that belong to a bigger cycle, then the energy of that note allows you to carry on with renewed energy. It allows you to carry on straight instead of deviate. How do you find the other cycles? That?s what you do when you follow the movements of the sun or the moon. You attune yourself to a higher cycle. The seasons are a cycle too.
At the end of 2012, there is a transitional point between two huge cycles, so big that you need an entire civilization to be aware of the beginning and the end of that cycle.
The third shock is when you accomplish your aim and begin a new one, and that comes from a source that is of a nature I will call "Otherness".
Koyote the Blind
Koyote the Blind is an Hablador (Master Storyteller) in the 9th century Toltec tradition. He is also the one responsible for bringing the Aka Dua to the public in the Western Hemisphere. The Tequihua Foundation has attempted to assist him in this task.
Enneagram: Symbol of Change and Attainment is excerpted from the book Teachings of a Toltec Survivor by Koyote the Blind. The book is a record of the magically created performance of Koyote during the twelve weeks between the Spring Equinox and the Summer Solstice in 2007.
